Skeletune

Chord Detector

Read chords over time and copy the progression as plain text.

About this tool

Chord Detector lays chord names across a timeline so musicians can sketch a progression, producers can rebuild harmony, and DJs can understand harmonic movement through a track.

Everything runs in your browser: the file is decoded locally, chroma is measured over short windows and matched against chord templates. Nothing is uploaded and no account is needed.

How it works

  1. 01

    Load a track

Drop an audio file. It is decoded and analysed locally in your browser.

  2. 02

    Read the progression

Use the main progression readout and the timeline table to follow harmony over time.

  3. 03

    Copy as text

Copy the chord sequence for charts, notes or a DAW marker lane.
