About this tool

This free scale and chord finder gathers a scale, its notes, its diatonic chords and the progressions built from them into one compact music theory surface for every key.

The layout uses pitch-class ribs and table plates so theory information can be scanned like measurements rather than tutorial prose. It needs no file and runs in your browser.

How it works

  1. 01

    Choose a root

Pick the root note and the scale family you want to work in.

  2. 02

    Read chords

The chord table lists every degree with its chord name and function.

  3. 03

    Copy progression ideas

Common progressions sit beside the chord table and copy as plain text.
